We established our law firm in 2008. From the very beginning, we aimed to create a team of experts dedicated to a cultivating a friendly workplace, building a client-first philosophy, and exemplifying what it means to be a professional law office. Thanks to our joint efforts, we have achieved this goal, providing every client who walks through our doors with dedicated support in the field of legal protection for intellectual property.

Adam Pawłowski

Adam graduated in electronics and telecommunications from the Technical University of Lodz, Poland, and the Technical University of Denmark.

He qualified as a European patent attorney through the European Qualifying Examination in 2007. As an experienced engineer, he holds the IEEE Senior Member position.

Adam gained extensive experience in the industry having worked at various international telecommunication corporations. He has vast experience in developing patent strategies, primarily for startups and established SMEs.

Adam has been recognized as the sole person from Poland at IAM Strategy 300: The World’s Leading IP Strategists. He also shares his knowledge with eager patent trainees as a CEIPI tutor.

Katarzyna Szwajkowska (Święs)

Katarzyna graduated in chemical technology from the Silesian Technical University in Poland. She studied modifications of copolyesters used in the controlled release of drugs and specializes in plastics and polymers. Katarzyna drafts patent applications and conducts patentability, as well as the freedom to operate searches.

Qualified through the European Qualifying Examination, Katarzyna also prepares opinions on the validity of Polish and foreign patent applications.

Tomasz Derek

Tomasz graduated in mechanics and computer science at the International Faculty of Engineering from the Technical University of Lodz. He also studied at Jönköping University in Sweden. He gained vast practical experience in the automotive industry, working in an R&D department for an international company, where he was responsible for installations, modifications, and improvements to technological lines.

Qualified through the European Qualifying Examination, Tomasz works on mechanical cases and is involved in prior art searches and patent drafting.

Jakub Lach

Awarded a PhD in biological sciences, graduated in medical biotechnology at the Medical University of Lodz and in biology, specialising in medical biophysics and bioinformatics at the University of Lodz. He gained his scientific experience working as a bioinformatician in one of the leading centres dealing with DNA sequencing. His scientific activities focused on microbial genetics, assessment of the biotechnological potential of microorganisms, study of the environmental and human microbiome, and bioinformatics. In addition, he has been involved in research and development projects related to the use of bacteriophages as an alternative to antibiotics. He expanded his knowledge related to intellectual property law during postgraduate studies “Intellectual Property Law” at the Jagiellonian University.

Jakub is involved in patent researching and drafting of patent descriptions, in particular in topics related to biotechnology, pharmacy, medical technologies and artificial intelligence.

Eliza Nowacka

Eliza graduated with a law degree from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Lodz. She also passed Postgraduate Intellectual Property Studies from the Faculty of Law at Warsaw University. She is also a graduate of Intellectual Property School, the H. Grocjusz Intellectual Property Centre, and a member of the Polish Chamber of Patent Attorneys and Licensing Executives Society in Poland.

Eliza is in charge of trademarks, industrial designs, copyrights, and unfair competition issues. She specializes in trademark opposition proceedings, as well as invalidation of trademarks and designs. She deals with strategies of industrial property protection, handles proceedings before intellectual property offices (including the Polish Patent Office, the EUIPO, the WIPO), draws up and reviews agreements in the field of industrial property, and prepares legal opinions.

Marcin Faron

Marcin graduated with a law degree from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Lodz. He is a PhD Candidate whose thesis focused on service mark as an independent object of protection. He is also a graduate of the School of Intellectual Property Law, organized by the H. Grotius Center of Intellectual Property Law, and several courses organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

Marcin’s MA thesis devoted to an obligation of trademark use was a finalist of The Best MA Thesis which he defended for the Faculty of Law and Administration University of Lodz Contest during the academic year 2019/2020. During his studies, he was awarded by the President of the University of Lodz after defense of his MA thesis and was awarded one of the highest honors given to graduates of the University of Lodz – the Medal for Glorious Studies.

He specializes in trademarks and designs protection, conducting intellectual property legal researches, drawing up IP agreements, drafting applications for the Polish Patent Office, the EUIPO, as well as the WIPO, and counseling in questionable issues such as infringement proceedings.

Hanna Borsiak

Graduate of Logistics at the Faculty of Management at the University of Łódź and of Management at the Faculty of Management at the University of Warsaw.

Hanna deals with administration issues in the trademark and industrial design department. She prepares documentation in domestic and foreign proceedings, and ensures its proper flow. She ensures efficient and timely handling of cases and supports clients with formal issues at every stage of the proceedings.

Graduate of the University of Lodz Faculty of Law and Administration,

Jakub is responsible for client assistance in the European patent grant and PCT procedure. This includes a coordination of the EP validation process and the entry into the national phase of the PCT process. Additionally, he deals with administrative tasks in relation to settlements and supervision of the flow of official documents.

Izabela is an economist by profession. She gained her knowledge and professional experience from over ten years in one of the leading law offices in Lodz.

Now, she manages the flow of documents and is responsible for contact with numerous administrative authorities and clients.

Anastazja Szymczak

Anastazja deals with administration in the Polish department of inventions and utility models. She prepares documentation in national proceedings and coordinates its proper circulation. She is responsible for contact with administrative authorities and clients. Ensures that all cases are handled on time and efficiently. Additionally, she deals with tasks in the area of settlements.

Paweł Błoński

Pawel graduated in computer science from the University of Zielona Gora, Poland. He specializes in protection of computer-implemented inventions in Europe and the US, as well as any related prior art and patentability searches. He has a vast experience in assessment and examination of patent pools and gained professional experience as a programmer in an outsourcing service company followed by an international digital television company.

Qualified in 2012 through the European Qualifying Examination, he runs an independent patent firm in Zielona Góra.

Jarosław Mirkowski

Awarded a PhD in computer engineering from Slovak Technical University in Bratislava, Mirkowski lectured at the Technical University of Zielona Góra, Poland, and Universidad Tecnologica de la Mixteca in Huajuapan de Leon in Oaxaca, Mexico. He is also a fellow of the NATO Postgraduate Fellowship at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, UK, and served for many years as a director of an intellectual property department for an international corporation active in the field of digital television.

Since 2014, he has been an independent consultant in managing intellectual property.
